ABC Kids is expanding Auslan access to Bluey, with all episodes of the popular Australian children’s program set to be available with Auslan translation from 3 October.

The expansion is part of Bluey’s Auslan Sign & Seek, a new initiative from the ABC developed in collaboration with Deaf Connect to mark National Week of Deaf People 2026. The initiative introduces families to Australian Sign Language (Auslan) through familiar episodes and characters from Bluey.

On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October, ABC Kids will run a Bluey marathon from 7.30am to 7.30pm, including 24 episodes signed in Auslan. Throughout the weekend, viewers will also be able to take part in Sign & Seek, with Auslan signs incorporated into different versions of the Bluey theme song. The signs provide clues to words and objects that viewers can then look for in the following episode.

Tutorials will also introduce signs connected to episodes including Keepy Uppy, Daddy Robot and Turtleboy.

Beyond the weekend event, the ABC has confirmed that all episodes of Bluey will be available with Auslan translation from 3 October, including The Sign and Bluey’s Big Play. Auslan-accessible Bluey episodes and other ABC Kids programs can also be streamed through ABC iview.

The expansion gives Deaf and hard of hearing children and families greater access to one of Australia’s most popular children’s programs, while also introducing more families to Auslan through a familiar television series.
