Centre for Accessibility Australia visited Broome on 17 September 2026 to deliver a free workshop on plain language and accessible social media.

Presented by CFA Australia’s Digital Access, Training and Inclusion Coordinator, Laetitia Thompson, the fully booked session covered practical ways to make everyday communication clearer and more accessible. Participants learned how to write in plain language, create useful alt text and make hashtags easier to read.

It was wonderful to meet people from across Broome and spend the morning sharing ideas, asking questions and discussing the small changes that can make digital content more inclusive.

The workshop was held at the Oaks Broome Hotel as part of CFA Australia’s Systemic Advocacy Program, supported by the Western Australian Department of Communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Broome and made the session such an enjoyable one.
