The gator lead character of the game stands confidently, wearing a hat and coat. In front of him is the title of the character in green, BROK The Investigator, with a gator fist in the middle of the letter O.

Collaborating with accessibility consultant, Lirin, independent French game studio, COWCAT Games, have updated their point and click adventure game, BROK the InvestiGator with noteworthy accessibility improvements for players who are blind. With these updates, this makes it the first full-scale adventure game that blind players can completely play through.

A full list of the features can be found on Brok the InvestiGator’s accessibility page, but they include audio descriptions of characters, locations and scenes, and text-to-speech narration. Also available is positional audio and if players walk into walls, there are wall vibrations. Larger fonts and increased contrast for text and characters can also be utilised by players.

Before these new updates, BROK the InvestiGator already had a number of accessibility features in place, including highlighting interactable elements and remapping for keyboard inputs.

This new update is available for players now and can be played on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, and X Box One.
