Ticketek, one of Australia’s major ticketing agencies, has launched a groundbreaking digital solution aimed at improving accessibility for people with disability attending events.
The platform allows users to seamlessly select specific seats within a venue to meet their needs, enabling the purchase of both accessible and non-accessible tickets in a single transaction.
This initiative, developed in response to customer feedback and collaboration with advocacy groups, including Spinal Life Australia and the Physical Disability Council of NSW, addresses the challenges faced by approximately 4.4 million Australians with disability.
Participating venues include Qudos Bank Arena, Rod Laver Arena, and Suncorp Stadium, with plans for a gradual rollout to additional Ticketek venues. The move is a significant step towards ensuring equal opportunities for all Australians to enjoy live events.
