On the 22nd of April, Centre for Accessibility Australia (CFA Australia) delivered a successful workshop in Albany focusing on plain language and accessible social media.

Laetitia Thompson, Digital Content Officer at CFA Australia, led the session, sharing practical insights into creating clear, inclusive, and accessible digital communications. Drawing on her experience, she highlighted the importance of using plain language to ensure content is easy to understand for diverse audiences, including people with disability. The workshop also explored strategies for making social media more accessible, including the use of alt text, captioning and colour contrast.

Held at the Hilton Garden Inn Albany, the workshop brought together participants from a wide range of sectors. Attendees engaged in discussions and practical activities, gaining valuable tools and techniques to enhance the accessibility of their own digital content and social media platforms.

CFA Australia extends its sincere thanks to the Department of Communities WA for supporting the workshop.
