Marion Hailes-MacDonald has been appointed as the first Director of Western Australia’s Office of Disability. This announcement came in a press release from Hon. Don Punch, Minister for Disability Services.   Ms Hailes-MacDonald will be leading the implementation of the State Disability Strategy 2020-2030.

The press release states:

“The Office of Disability has been established by the McGowan Government to promote the rights and interests of people with disability and the broader disability sector. The appointment of Ms Hailes-MacDonald finalises the creation of the Office of Disability, delivering on a key component of the State Disability Strategy 2020-2030.”

The aim of the Office of Disability will be the promotion of the rights and interests of people with disability.  The director’s role will be important stewardship, offering advice and innovation.
