Apple has introduced system-wide Large Text support for Apple TV as part of its latest software updates.
The new feature began rolling out with tvOS 27 on 15 September, alongside Apple’s latest updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple Vision Pro.
Large Text gives Apple TV users greater control over the size of text displayed on screen. Users can adjust the text size through the accessibility settings, with options ranging from Large through to Accessibility XXXL.
The feature uses Dynamic Type, which allows apps that support it to automatically adjust text based on a user’s preferred size. App developers can also adapt their layouts so that information remains usable as text becomes larger.
The update can be particularly useful for people with low vision, as well as anyone who finds larger text easier to read when navigating content on a television screen.
Apple first previewed Larger Text support for tvOS earlier this year. With the release of tvOS 27, the feature is now available as part of Apple’s latest software rollout.
Developers can also indicate whether their tvOS apps support Larger Text through Apple’s Accessibility Nutrition Labels, helping users find information about an app’s accessibility before downloading it.
