Text says boosting accessibility in Windows 11 with new narrator updates. Image is of a woman smiling, typing on a laptop.

Microsoft is rolling out updates to Narrator, its screen reader, giving users more control over how information is spoken and enhancing image descriptions with Copilot integration. Key updates include customisable UI element narration, allowing users to choose which properties are spoken and rearrange their order. Narrator can now work with Copilot to describe images and visual elements on the screen. A revamped touch keyboard experience for voice typing is also in the works, removing the full-screen overlay for a more intuitive experience.

These features are gradually rolling out to Insiders in the Dev and Beta Channels, with the Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available toggle on.
