Stadium Taranaki in New Plymouth, New Zealand, has incorporated Auri technology, powered by Auracast, into its recently upgraded facilities. This new assistive listening system enables fans with hearing loss to enjoy the same immersive experience as other patrons.

Key Features of the Auri System:
– Four Dante-enabled Auri transmitters: covering the East Stand, causeway, and event space, providing seamless audio coverage
– 32 Auri receivers: available on demand for visitors who require them
– Bluetooth Low Energy: broadcasts clear, low-latency audio to users’ Auracast-enabled devices

The Auri system was chosen after the original plan for a traditional hearing loop system became impractical due to the complexity of the infrastructure. Provision Technologies and Jands worked together to evaluate and implement the Auri solution, prioritising accessibility and innovation.

Benefits of the Auri System:
– Expanded accessibility: works with all Auracast-compatible devices, including hearing aids, earbuds, smartphones, and AirPods
– Flexible coverage: suitable for large spaces and multiple zones
– Inclusive experience: enables everyone to share in the excitement of live events without limitations

According to Justin Marechal, Jands NZ Account Development Manager, “Provision excelled at meeting the client’s needs and ensuring that they made an informed decision regarding the system to be used.” Dylan Torr, AV Sales Consultant at Provision Technologies, added that the project “redefined what it means to create an inclusive experience for every fan”.
