Monash University calls for research participants for a research project about the accessibility of government information and communication
Researchers from Monash University are trying to study how Deaf people and people with disability access government information across Australia. The research project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing and will help inform the Accessible Information and Communication Associated Plan.
They are looking to understand the things that are easily comprehendible and what is hard to understand when it comes to government services and websites. They are also trying to predict how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help make information easier to understand.
You are eligible to take part in the research if you are 18 years or older. You can participate in the survey if you are Deaf, have a disability and use or have used government services in the past. You can also take part in the research if you are a carer or family member for someone with disability.
There are different ways you can take part in the research. There is a short online survey for you to complete. The survey will take you up to 20 minutes. You can choose to write your answer, record a video or record an audio. It will ask questions relating to government websites and your experience using them. You can also take part in a focus group or co-design workshops.
The survey is voluntary with no payment involved. Your answers will help researchers learn and recommend on how to make government websites more accessible and easy to navigate through, for people with disability.
