Today, we at Centre for Accessibility Australia, are thrilled to mark our 5th birthday!

Although our initiative began in 2018, we officially launched our operations in 2020. Since then, we’ve been dedicated to promoting digital accessibility throughout Australia, to ensure people with disability have equal access to technology and the internet.

Our mission is to empower the accessibility movement by advocating for universal equal access. We envision an inclusive world without accessibility barriers to content or spaces.

As our co-founder and CEO, Dr. Scott Hollier, who is legally blind, knows firsthand, accessibility is the difference between independently achieving goals or struggling and relying heavily on others.

To achieve our mission, we provide a range of services and initiatives, including:

Training and Auditing Services: We offer training to implement accessibility and website auditing services to access and improve accessibility for content creators and organisations.

Free Online Resources:

We develop highly accessible online resources to promote digital access and support people with disability.

Assistive Technology Support:

We provide free online resources and a helpdesk to offer information and assistance on assistive technology for people with disability.

Accessibility Campaigns:

We advocate for the equal access movement through accessibility campaigns and celebrate accessibility success stories through the Australian Access Awards, which we host every two years.

Looking Back and Moving Forward

As we celebrate our 5th birthday, we’re releasing a birthday report that highlights our mission, team, and initiatives.

The report showcases our commitment to creating a more inclusive world and our efforts to reduce the accessibility gap. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved so far, and we’re excited to continue pushing for a more accessible Australia.

Thank you for your continued support and find out about our journey in our 5th birthday report!
